TREMBLING sensing space
Official Release Date: November 30, 2011
The Amsterdam edition 2009:
In the frame of a huge tunnel under construction,
that in a few years
time will be guiding a busy artery underneath Amsterdam Central Station
along the river IJ, theatre director Lidy Six realized a sensory space,
within which a profound experience is created out of light and sound.
DJ/composer Joaquin Joe Claussell and light designer Katinka Marac set
the space in motion and transport the senses to a dimension beyond time
and space.
In TREMBLING sensing space we create an experiential space by
vibrations and trembling's of color and sound - this
theatre-installation is like a ritual place, a happening in which color
and sound resonate as movements in space. During the experience we move
from darkness into the light - think of it as an abstract story of
creation or imagine the very first sound that sent everything into
motion during the Big Bang. The identity and intensity of the space
then changes gradually, while the atmosphere moves from the celestial
to an earthly one, from an individual experience to a collective
experience of unity.
Deluxe Booklet containing a CD and DVD featuring excerpts/ footage of
Trembling Sensing Space and 5.1 surround sound and Dolby PCM Stereo

Lidy Six: ‘The idyll wanders through the images of terror’. This quote that I once read, I will always carry with me.
The metaphor inspirs me while installing experiential spaces,
installations and rituals, on my journey exploring new forms to create
an idyll as an antidote, a healing space, beauty, the celebration of
life. Spaces of Beingness. In this context I find it important to believe that everything around us has a soul - not only human beings. This view gives us a completely different perspective than the one we
are often used to in a western way of thinking. It is one of
attentiveness, for each other, for all things. A greater sensory
perception, of oneself and of the presence around us, revealing an
intensified experience of time and space.
Introduced here are glimpses of what Joaquin ‘Joe’
Claussell captures from the characteristics of each color in
soundscapes and music he composes for TREMBLING sensing space. In his
music paintings each color speaks its own personal language. His
subtle, warm, organic and powerful sounds impregnate us and provide an
intense
experience.
You can both feel, see and listen to the complete story on the forthcoming
DVD/CD/Booklet (SRM DVD/CD.001) which Includes a 40 page full
color Booklet along with a DVD Containing footage of the Installation as well as many extras.
This
unique concept will also for the first time present for Joaquin Joe
Claussell’s Music in 5.1 Surround Sound.
Coming Soon!
Lidy Six: I share Joaquin's belief in the healing powers that transcend
from sound to music. There is an intelligence within color and sound to
discover, a gateway to the unseen worlds of energy that enhance and
sustain life. In Claussell's music I recognize this intelligence.
TREMBLING sensing space will travel along various venues in the next
couple of years, with the goal of presenting interesting Visuals as
well as spontaneous Sound Scapes and Music presented in Surround Sound - all the
while continuously evolving the concept.
